If you constantly feel pressurised or feel that your job is at stake, these negative feelings can be detrimental to your health, Australian researchers said.

Continuing to work in a bad work environment with a bad boss is as good as being unemployed.

'Our analysis clearly established that there was no difference in the rates of common mental disorders, such as anxiety and depression, between those who were unemployed and those who were in the poorest quality jobs', researchers revealed.

Earlier research had also pointed out that those who are unhappy in their job have high blood pressure readings even when they were not at their office.

Bad work environment, missing a promotion are found to be connected to risks of heart disease.
