State to Observe Alzheimer’s Awareness Day
The North Georgia Regional Office of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting two advocacy sessions in preparation for Alzheimer’s Awareness Day at the capitol in Atlanta on Feb. 12.
The first scheduled program was held last Tuesday at the Rome-Floyd County Library.

The purpose of the programs is to discuss pending legislative issues dealing with Alzheimer’s disease and related elder care. In addition, those who wish to attend Awareness Day at the capitol will learn more about the event at these trainings. For more information or to register, call 1-800-272-3900.

North Georgia residents will join more than 300 statewide advocates for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders Thursday, Feb. 12, for Alzheimer’s Awareness Day at the state capitol.

The North Georgia Regional Office is providing transportation from the Dalton office and will pick up advocates in Calhoun and Cartersville as well.

There is no charge, but registration is required in order to plan meals and materials. This year, advocates may prepare signs and videos to take with them to share with legislators and other advocates across the state.

Anyone who cares about those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias is encouraged to participate.
