Huffingtonpost has come out with a list of spices that one should include in their kitchen to enhance the flavor of their food items. Here is a list.

* Cardamom: It's unique sweet-spicy flavour makes it a natural addition to sweets. Add a little to cake when you decide to bake. You don't need much to impart its bold flavour.

* Turmeric: It is responsible for some notable dishes. It gives bright yellow colour and is instrumental in curries.

* Cumin: It's bright, peppery flavour is one of the reasons Mexican food is so addictive. It's also an important ingredient in Indian and Middle Eastern food items.

* Garam masala: It's a blend of spices commonly used in North Indian cuisine. It's usually a mixture of cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds and cardamom.
