Spanish Researchers Testing Idea of Edible Water Bottles

Spanish researchers have come up with a blob design for a new kind of bottle through which you can not only drink water or your favorite drink, but also eat it afterwards. "This blob like container called 'Ooho' is simple, cheap, durable, hygienic, biodegradable and even edible," Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, one of the designers, was quoted as saying.

The "Ooho" encapsulates water in a double gelatinous membrane made from brown algae and calcium chloride.

Just pierce the "Ooho" to drink and then you can gulp the bottle too.

It is even simple enough to make at home, media reports said.

There are already edible containers available in the market.

One such product "Wikipearl" contains yogurt and ice cream and is made of nuts, chocolate and seeds that can be eaten, the reports added.
