Researchers from the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital, Houston are suggesting that school nurses can play an important role in tackling diabetes in kids.
The researchers said that nurse-supervised blood sugar monitoring, insulin injections at lunch and periodic insulin dose adjustment as needed during school were able to control blood sugar in a significant manner in adolescents who had type 1, or "insulin dependent," diabetes.
