Researchers Claim Creation of New Army of Superbugs Aided By Antibacterial Soaps
Bugs are now developing potentially lethal mutations in order to beat domestic cleaning agents that have been designed to kill them, claim two researchers.
Professor Laura Piddock and Dr Mark Webber, from the University of Birmingham, showcased how the common food bug salmonella was able to develop resistance to cleaning agent biocide, which are used in soaps and washing-up liquids, the Daily Express reported.

The bug was also able to survive antibiotics.

Weber asserted that traditional soap, water and bleach are enough for domestic use.

Leading microbiologist Professor Laura Piddock said that antibiotic resistance is frightening and is a real threat to the next generation.
