Pauls and Catherines are Most Likely to be Swingers

by VR Sreeraman on Oct 5 2009 1:22 PM

Women named Catherine and men called Paul are most likely to indulge in swinging, according to a new study.

The research also found that 'swingers' are more likely to be well-educated and aged in their 20s rather than the stereotype of beer-bellied blokes and bored housewives.

In the study, most couples were found to be white, middle-class university graduates with careers in advertising or the media, reports The Sun.

The majority were found to be in a long-term relationship but not married.

Among men, the most common swingers' names were Andrew, David or Mark, while the women most likely to swap partners were called Clare, Sarah or Emma.

They indulge in their hobby about twice a month, the poll for a swinging club found.

Mark Roberts, 39 - whose firm Fever Parties has hosted 60 bashes involving about 6,000 swingers over the past decade - said: Young people these days are a lot more open-minded.
