Patients With Mental Health Issues Will Soon be Prescribed Book Reading Therapy

A new initiative funded by the Arts Council will see GPs prescribe books for patients who suffer from mental health issues. Patients can choose from a selection of 30 titles available at their local libraries.

Patients With Mental Health Issues Will Soon be Prescribed Book Reading Therapy

The Arts Council has pledged over Ģ20,000 to ensure that the public libraries have designated list of texts for problems ranging from "anger" to "worry".

Some of the other problems which may require reading books include stress, binge eating, sleep problems, relationship problems and social phobias.
