A Pakistani government spokesman revealed that that country’s Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani received a small packet containing deadly anthrax powder.

According to the police, the package was sent by a woman professor at Jamshoro University from the southern Sindh region.

The packet was mailed back in October 2011. The police added that no one came in contact with the powder though they are yet to ascertain the motive for sending the packet.

Anthrax is receiving close attention from authorities across the world due to its potential to be used in bioterrorism.
