A doctor of Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, where the boy was admitted, said, "The injuries were grave as the glass pieces pierced the boy's stomach and eyes." Another incident was reported from Swarupnagar area of northeast Delhi where a 22-year-old youth died while bursting crackers. However, there was no official confirmation.
The highest number of cases were reported from south Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, while Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital attended to almost 150 burn cases. Lok Nayak Hospital received 45 patients, and 153 burn cases were reported at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
