Kelly Davidson, a breast cancer survivor from Ottawa, Canada, underwent a double mastectomy and had both her breasts removed. She has now covered the scars with many intricate tattoos.
She has an interesting design tattooed on her chest to cover the scars. She posted a photo of her body art on Facebook and it went viral recording close to one MILLION "likes" on the social networking site in just 48 hours.
Explaining her experience, Kelly said, "Obviously it's devastating for anyone to lose their breasts because it defines us as feminine and female but for me, I embraced it.
I'm still me, I'm still beautiful. I don't need breasts to feel that way or to portray that to other people. I thought to myself, what better way to commemorate my battle and beating it than to put something beautiful on my chest."
She has been quite a fighter since the age of 11. She fought Hopkins Lymphoma at that age. She never wants to be pitied and at the same time wants to help people who are also going through similar issues like hers.
In her quest to help other women undergoing a similar problem, she has gone public with her story. Hopefully, Kelly's story will serve as an inspiration to many women world over in a similar plight.
