The tissues of older women's breast are less flexible and a study seems to suggest that older women may need specially designed sports bras, especially when they exercise.

The movement of breasts was found to be different for older women and the younger ones, even if the breast size was the same.

For women in their twenties, the breast moved up-and-down while exercising and for the women between 45 and 65 years the vertical movement was much less. Instead, the movements were more left-to-right.

Researcher Debbie Risius, of the University of Portsmouth, said: 'The more mature breast moves in a completely different way to a younger breast. The distribution of the movement is different.'

Some of the older women put off exercising due to embarrassment and this really calls for specially deigned sports bra for the older lot.
