 Odisha Flood Death Toll Pegged at 45 With Additional 4.8 Lakh People Still Marooned
Over 45 people have so far lost their lives due to floods that were caused by the rising waters of the Mahanadi River in Odisha with officials revealing that more than 4.8 lakh people are still marooned in 460 villages across the state.
Reports said overall 32.9 lakh persons have been affected by the deluge.

Reports quoted Deputy Relief Commissioner Prabhat Ranjan Mohapatra, as saying that the delta region of the Mahanadi river system has been primarily affected.

The state weather bureau has predicted more rain in the next 24 hours.

So far, 5,313 villages spread over 23 districts have been ravaged by the floods.
