NHS Hospital Has Treated Kids With High Alcohol Levels in Their Body
In a dangerously worrying trend, a NHS hospital in Britain said that it has treated four children under the age of six years for having very high levels of alcohol content in their body.
Doctors at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospital's NHS Trust said that over 165 youths under the age of 17 years were treated for various drinking or drugs related conditions in the last five years. The doctors also said that they treated a 14-year old boy who had overdosed on heroin.

According to a recent survey conducted in Brighton and Hove, nearly 60 percent of children between ages of 10 to 15 years had drunk alcohol while just a few days before, a nine year old boy was found to be alcoholic by anti-social behavior officers.

The recent revelations have worried Alcohol Concern chief executive Don Shenker who said, “It is extremely worrying and should ring alarm bells to parents. They must ensure they have complete control over how much alcohol is in the house and how they are storing it. They should always make sure they are not leaving it where their children can get it, and treat it like any other household hazardous material.”
