This news, according to the magazine has such potential to influence the course of chemistry in the coming years.
One of the groundbreaking news stated by the magazine is the expansion of the genetic code. Also, something that is considered very significant is the development of inexpensive solar cells, given the current situation of fast depleting non-renewable resources of energy. The latest dreaded Ebola epidemic kept the chemists busy with the development of new treatments for tackling Ebola.

Science activists, on account of regulation, pressured the authorities that the products made with genetically modified organisms must be labelled. Insecticides known as neonicotinoids were found to affect the health of bees and many lawmakers urged the authorities to restrict the use of these insecticides.
