New Technology Makes Brain-Computers Efficient in Interpreting Person’s Intentions
A brain-computer interface is a direct communication pathway between the brain and an external device.
Researchers at Stanford University have developed a new technology to improve the efficiency of a brain computer.

The mathematical model significantly improves how the person’s intentions are interpreted when integrated with data coming from a brain-computer interface.

In an experiment on monkeys implanted with electrode arrays on their brains, the animals showed the ability to use their minds to control a cursor on the screen about as fast as doing single-key typing.

Results have been published in journal Nature Communications explains how the scientists analyzed the natural motion of monkeys and the brain activity related to those motions.

They later had the monkeys play mind games on the computer, moving a cursor similar to how a physical object would be moved across the screen.

The results are promising and experts believe that the technology will soon come to help people with serious physical limitations.
