New Robot Called 'Pepper' can Analyze Gestures and Voice Tones

A human-like robot called Pepper has now been unveiled by Japanese telecommunications and Internet Corporation which can analyze gestures, voice tones and expressions.
The robot uses an 'emotional engine' and a cloud-based artificial intelligence system and people can communicate with it just like they would with friends and family. Softbank says it plans to launch the robot commercially in Japan next year, The BBC reported.

The futuristic robot will be available for 1930 dollars.

Chief executive of Softbank, Masayoshi Son said that they are giving a robot a heart and emotions for the first time in human history.

The firm will showcase prototypes of the robot at two of its stores from Friday, and will allow customers to interact with them, the report added.
