The well-known news and opinion website, The Huffington Post, is launching a "Divorce" section which will provide valuable tips on dating and parenting, financial and legal advice for those contemplating divorce or are already divorced.
The Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington said the new section is "aimed at providing insight, resources, community, and some comic relief to those impacted by divorce.

"Part practical resource, part lively community, HuffPost Divorce will tackle the subject from many angles, with intelligence and empathy," said Huffington, who is divorced from former US congressman Michael Huffington.

"Divorce affects so many lives, and so many myriad aspects of these lives, we want to put a spotlight on them," she said.

The Huffington Post said the inspiration for the new section came from author Nora Ephron, who is divorced from Carl Bernstein, the former Washington Post reporter of Watergate fame.

An exclusive excerpt about divorce from Ephron's new book, "I Remember Nothing: And Other Reflections" is to be featured in the section at launch.

"A huge number of people are either divorced, considering divorce, or reading about other people?s divorces," Ephron said. "The HuffPost Divorce section will be part practical resource, part lively community, and part news."

The Huffington Post has attracted a strong following -- more than 40 million unique visitors a month -- for its lively mix of news, entertainment, opinion and blogs submitted by politicians, academics and celebrities.

It has enjoyed spectacular growth at a time when newspapers across the United States are struggling to cope with a steep drop in print advertising revenue and the migration of readers to free news online.
