Scores of people took part in a 'cyclothon rally' organized here on Sunday as a curtain raiser to the Earth Hour 2011 to be observed on march 26.
The Cyclothon rally heralded the message to stop the degradation of the Earth's natural environment and build a future where people could live in harmony with nature.

Models Sonalika Sahay and Lakshmi Rana flagged off the rally.

"We are having the cycle rally today to have the Earth Hour today from 8:30 p.m onwards which is to shut off all the lights. This is basically working towards the environment," said Lakshmi Rana.

Rana further said that that apart from waking up early in the morning and coming here, people should also make efforts in shutting off lights on March 26 from 8:30 to 9:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Sonalika Sahay also said that people must take the initiative of turning off the lights on March 26, so as to give this cause a boost and save energy.

The other participants in the rally included models, students from schools and colleges, executives from corporate sectors and even homemakers.
