Nepal Earthquake: Death Toll Rises to 4,310 With 10,000 People Injured
The death toll from the massive earthquake that hit Nepal recently has risen to 4,310, the Home Ministry confirmed on Tuesday. Many more people have been reported to be missing.
On Sunday, fresh tremors were felt across India’s northern belt after another earthquake of 6.7 magnitude hit the east of Kathmandu. A massive earthquake of 7.8 magnitude had struck Nepal, earlier on Saturday, resulting in thousands of deaths.

The calamity, one of the worst in over 80 years, was followed by 55 aftershocks. Prime Minister Sushil Koirala says the government is doing all it can but is overwhelmed by the scale of the catastrophe.

Rescuers are still struggling to bring aid to remote Himalayan areas. Heavy rain is worsening the plight of hundreds of thousands of people camped out in the open.

The UN estimates that eight million people in 39 districts have been affected by the 7.8-magnitude quake - more than a quarter of the population. More than 10,000 people have been injured.
