Need to Eradicate Poverty from Uttar Pradesh
Jim Yong Kim, World Bank president said that there is a need to eradicate poverty from Uttar Pradesh.
"In ending poverty we think that, once and for all, we will remove this stain from the consciousness of all of us in the world. It is not right that people live on less than our level, which is dollar twenty five a day and eight percent of those people live here at Uttar Pradesh," said Kim, while speaking to the media in Lucknow along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

" There is no way that we can be successful in achieving the aim of ending poverty without being successful here in Uttar Pradesh," he added.

Meanwhile, an extremely delighted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said that he and his ministers had a positive discussion with the World Bank delegation, and assured of strong relations between the two in the coming years.

"We had a positive discussion with the World Bank President and his delegation. I hope that Uttar Pradesh would get the support of World Bank so that development and infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh can move forward," said Yadav.

"I am confident that the relation between World Bank and the state of Uttar Pradesh would become stronger in the coming years," he added.

The World Bank president is presently on a three-visit to India along with his delegation.
