Nasal Spray Aids Early Detection of Alzheimer
A simple nose examination could reveal whether a patient is likely to develop Alzheimer's disease years before the onset of symptoms, according to Professor Boris Schmidt from the Universitat Darmstadt in Germany.
He has developed a nasal spray that uses a dye to detect harmful tau proteins, which kill the brain cells and cause dementia. Scientists are also thinking about delivering the dye in the nasal cavity via tablets. The nasal spray would enable detection of the condition in its early stages and this could be vital in developing more effective treatments.

This new method is far more simpler than the currently available retina scan and brain scan, which are used for diagnosing Alzheimer.
