MRSA can Be Prevented Effectively

by Rajashri on Jul 4 2008 2:45 PM

While MRSA has become a scourge in most hospitals in the UK, experts feel it can be effectively prevented as has been demonstrated in the Netherlands and the Scandinavian countries.

Hospital infections can be traced to unhygienic conditions so maintenance of strict hygiene is the call of the day. The best way to stop the spread of MRSA is to screen patients on admission or isolate them until a negative result is returned.

While there can be no doubt that people who are suffering from a variety of chronic medical conditions are the most vulnerable to MRSA, they can be protected by taking adequate measures.

In the end the adage of prevention is better than cure does hold true for MRSA.
