A recent research seemed to show color preferences of waitresses in restaurants as customers seemed to tip waitresses at least 26% extra if they wore red. Of course the tips varied differently among sexes with male customers tipping the ladies much more.
Men tipped the waitresses at least 15% more if they wore red as compared to the same waitress wearing a different color.
So, the amount of tip varied with the color of the dress worn by the waitress- the color red attracted the highest tip.
The researchers wrote: 'As red color has no negative effect on women customers, it could be in their interest to wear red clothes at work.'
