Suzanne Murphy, a 29-year-old mother, who had gastric bypass surgery for obesity died from complications arising out of the surgery. Murphy went ahead with the surgery as she had been unable to do things she wanted to like playing with her son.
“To my beautiful baby boy. All you have to know is, mummy is doing this for you and me," Suzanne wrote in a note to her son. “Mummy has carried a lot of weight in my head and heart and body for as long as I can remember - I don’t want my baggage to become a weight you have to carry, son."Doctors advised her to get admitted to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on October 30, 2006. Days after her surgery she passed away although the doctors maintain there was nothing wrong with her.
In November tests came back positive for MRSA indication Murphy may have passed away with multiple organ failure.
