Michelle Obama Talks About Childhood Obesity
In Hispanic community, Michelle Obama, who was one of the keynote speakers at National Council of La Raza's conference in New Orleans, discussed the problem of childhood obesity.
The conference deals with Latino issues from health to immigration.

The 49-year-old First Lady said that 4 in 10 Hispanic kids are obese and almost half are on track to develop diabetes, the Huffington Post reported.

She said that while food may be love, the fact is that people are loving themselves and their kids to death.

Obama asserted that people needed to step up, they needed to start questioning the behaviours and beliefs that were making their kids sick.

She explained that the good news is that right now they have everything that they need to reclaim their kids' health if they are willing to step up.

Obama urged people to use the power of the Latino community as consumers, to hold big companies responsible for how they advertised unhealthy foods to Latino kids.
