Max Healthcare Organises Annual Patient Safety Conference
Max Healthcare commenced its two-day "annual patient safety conference" aiming to address critical quality and patients' safety issues in the healthcare services.
"Max Healthcare's mission is to create a healthcare ecosystem where patients and their families feel cared for and are free from medical harm," Rajit Mehta, CEO, Max Healthcare, said in a statement. "Patient safety has always been our foremost priority. We have a robust set of process and protocols in place to ensure that our patients are safe," he added.

Max Healthcare, along with other leading healthcare authorities, came together to outline health systems and environment that will ensure patient safety. The delegates also called to remove the probability of risks and attain 100 percent patient safety.

"Healthcare players operate in a 'high risk' environment every day. These risks include infections, adverse effects of medications, accidental injury, delay in emergency care and other environmental risks," added Sandeep Budhiraja, director, Max Healthcare.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), one out of every 10 patients worldwide is affected by these errors at health care facilities. Of every 100 hospitalised patients at any given time, seven in developed and 10 in developing countries will acquire healthcare-associated infections, the WHO said.

"We will create a shared resource platform and provide an open access to other organisations who have begun their journey of quality and safety to patients. We would also like to collaborate with the government through a PPP model to take forward our vision of 100 percent patient safety," Mehta noted.
