Many Older Men Opting for Cosmetic Surgery
Data released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons shows that there has been a two percent rise in cosmetic surgery procedures among older men in the US.
These numbers include a 14 per cent rise in facelifts and a seven per cent hike in liposuction, the ASPS said. These figures though, are still less than the boom seen in plastic surgery in 2007 before the recession hit the world.

"More than ever, this generation of men are pretty nervous about the younger guys they are competing with,'' said Phillip Haeck, president of the ASPS. "I have never seen this before - men who are out of work and looking for a job and really feeling like they need to do something to make themselves look younger to compete."

The significant numbers include 63,585 nose reshaping procedures, 31,476 eyelid surgery procedures and 23,899 liposuction procedures. Other popular treatments included breast reduction and hair transplants.
