Man Periods? Men Have Their Own Monthly Ups and Downs to Handle Too!
Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) has always been associated only with females. But a recent survey has revealed that most of the men believe that they too get PMS and struggle with its symptoms.
A poll survey conducted by a website, //vouchercloud.co.uk has shown that around quarter of men suffer with a condition more likely termed as “Man Periods”. Man Periods can mostly be related to “Irritable Men Syndrome (IMS)”, characterized by increased irritation, anger and hyper- sensitivity.

The poll was conducted among 2,412 British men and women. The results showed that about 26% of men suffered with menstrual symptoms. The most common symptoms were irritability (56%), being more tired than normal (51%) and increased cravings (47%), hunger (43%), easily upset (43%) and bloating (15%).

Chris Johnson, head of operations at Vouchercloud, said, “There have long been rumors about men having their own version of PMS, but these findings show this is a real phenomenon which many British men experience.

He added, “PMS may well be a biological effect for women only, but clearly a lot of men have their own monthly ups and downs to handle too! We’d suggest that men take their lead from the ladies in order to cope with their ‘man periods’; gentle exercise, plenty of sleep and a healthy diet should help you get back on track in no time – but there’s no problem with a night spent eating pizza and ice cream on the sofa either!”
