The recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report states that some types of laminate flooring made by the company, Lumber Liquidators have a greater risk of causing cancer and other health problems.
The company's flooring has a higher level of formaldehyde that can cause six to 30 cases of cancer per 100,000 people.
‘There is an increased risk of cancer and other health problems associated with exposure to certain laminate floors produced by Lumber Liquidators.
"Health risks of people who have the laminate flooring are being revised to reflect greater exposure to formaldehyde, which could cause eye, nose, and throat irritation for anyone. The estimated risk of cancer associated with exposure to the flooring increased," the report said.
Previously, the CDC has issued a report stating that the company's flooring pose little cancer risk but now has revised its statement. People who are exposed to this formaldehyde are three times more likely to develop cancer.
