Lose Weight While You Sleep, Claims New Book
A new diet book released by an American obesity doctor that promises to help you lose weight as you sleep has become a new rage among dieters.
The book, titled ‘The Overnight Diet’, has been written by Caroline Apovian and suggests that a high protein diet for six days and a liquid diet on the seventh followed by lots of sleep can help you lose up to nine pounds in a week without doing any exercise.

The book was released on April 9 and the diet has quickly become popular among those who are looking to shed their excess kilos without slogging on their feet for hours.

However the claims of the diet has been questioned by a number of experts who say that while sleeping does reduce some weight, there is no way that it can lose the amount of weight being touted in the book. Says Rose F. Kennedy Center’s Keith Ayoob, “In order to lose two pounds of body fat overnight you'd have to burn up about six or seven thousand calories and there's just no way to do that by sleeping.”
