Lily Allen has hit out at media reports claiming that the she admitted to being an alcoholic.

The 22-year-old insisted that whatever was written on her Myspace blog was made up and not written by her.

"It never was on the Myspace blog. Someone made it up,” Contactmusic quoted Allen, as saying.

The ‘Smile’ singer revealed that her statement in an interview in a Canada TV show was misinterpreted by someone and was spread wrongly.

"I did an interview in Canada - I can't remember what the TV program was called - and someone, like, a journalist or not a journalist ... got a notepad out and wrote what he thought I said, and then called one of the tabloid journalists in London, and said, 'Oh, Lily just said she was an alcoholic on the TV’,” she said.

"So they printed it, then said I had written it on my blog - because I do write things on my blog, but it was never there,” she added.

Allen insisted that the blog is plain lies and her publicists are trying to figure out who did it.

"It's just another one of those lies. We've been trying to trace it, because obviously, my publicist in England is really angry about it,” she said.

Earlier, tabloids had quoted the singer as writing on her personal blog that the fear of doing a bad show makes her drink even more.
