Kerala Youth Organisation to Start Exclusive Matrimonial Website for Cancer Survivors
A youth organisation in Kerala is all set to start a matrimonial website for cancer survivors, the first of its kind in India.
The St George Orthodox Youth Movement, under the St Mary's Orthodox Parish church at Kumbanad in Pathanamthitta district, will launch the website named www.insightmatrimony.com on March 9.

Cancer survivors between age 20 and 35 years can register free with the portal. "The fear of recurrence of disease is the main thing which pulls most of the people away from alliances with the recovered cancer patients. If both the persons know the pangs of the disease, they can easily understand each other and become perfect partners," said coordinator of the programme Nithin Chacko Thomas.

The website aims at bringing back survivors into the mainstream fold so that they can also lead a normal life.

Thomas said the fact that even though cancer patients have recovered, many people are hesitant in marrying them and they are continued to be looked as patients. And alliance between two survivors helps because both of them are aware of the disease and the treatment.

The organisation comprising 40 members has spent Rs 1 lakh on the website and is planning financial support and other programmes for cancer patients, apart from mass awareness campaigns.
