Internship For Pre-University Students To Make a Career In The Healthcare Industry
An internship program was conducted by Columbia Asia Hospital in Mysuru for Pre-University students to help them make a career choice in the healthcare sector.
In today’s world practical knowledge of the subject is more important besides having a formal education. Viju Rajan, manager, said: "Education should go beyond classrooms. The internship program was specially designed for students who may later show interest in the hospital industry and allied medical fields."

The internship program is aimed at helping students make a career in the healthcare sector. Students can choose to be doctors, support staff, nurses or executives in hospital administration. In this program students get a chance to interact with doctors and staff from all the departments of the hospital.

Dechu Nachiah, a student of Mother Teresa Deeksha Integrated PU College, said: "Being a commerce student, I thought hospitals are only meant for doctors and nurses. I was surprised to find opportunities for others too. This internship programme was a revelation for me."

The programme was conducted in two batches for PU students studying science, commerce and arts from St Philomena's, SDM, Farooqia, Vijaya Vittala Composite PU College, Kautilya Vidyalaya, Good Shepherd, Seshadripuram, Marimallappa, Vidya Vikas, GSSS PU College and Mother Teresa Deeksha Integrated PU College.
