Hero in Life and Death - John Bernacker

The very talented stuntman Mr. John Bernecker(33) passed away on 13th July,2017 following an accident on the sets of Walking Dead. He suffered severe head injury after falling from a height of 25 foot at Raleigh Studio, Atlanta. He was //taken to Atlanta Medical Center immediately after the fall and was kept on ventilator where he was declared brain dead later on. The family members, though devastated, by his sudden and unfortunate demise, still decided to donate his organs. They want Bernecker to continue living in the hearts of many people not only by his personal and professional contributions but also as an organ donor.

Mr. Bernecker has an experience of more than 10 years. He is known for his works on films like Logan and Fantastic Four. He passed away as a hero through his generous deed. The news of organ donation was published by Life Link foundation.

Life Link Foundation, a nonprofit organization is the organ and tissue procurement authority in the state of Georgia. In the United States, National Organ and Tissue Procurement Organization takes care of matching donor organs with waiting recipients. The United network for Organ Sharing(UNOS) along with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services operates this network.

According to Donate Life America,a not for profit organization which works to promote organ and tissue donation in the U.S,a person is added to the waiting list in every ten minutes and 22 people die every day waiting for an organ. The Department of U.S Health and Human Services states that, 95% of U.S adults support organ donation, but only 48% of them are registered donors. Each year the number of people on the waiting list grows faster as compared to the number of donors and transplants. A single organ donor can save up to 8 lives and a tissue donor can heal the lives of 75 people. This message has to reach more people so that many more sign up to be an organ donor.
