Bollywood stars are now using their power and charisma for a healthy cause.
In collaboration with the World Health Organization, The Health Ministry has started a campaign with Bollywood stars which will see them lending their voice with health tips beeped through caller tunes.
Celebrities have always proved to be great ambassadors for many initiatives as they bring value and success to campaigns, because of the power they have over the masses.
This is a first of its kind initiative where film stars are speaking to fans to maintain their health. This campaign, called the 'Donate Your Caller Tune for a Cause' seeks to increase public awareness about the burden of non-communicable diseases, as well as provide valuable health tips.
Launching the initiative, Union Health Secretary K N Desiraju said, "We are facing a growing burden of noncommunicable diseases, a large proportion of which are preventable by modifying behavioral risk factors like unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, consumption of tobacco products and alcohol etc. It is important that we explore innovative mediums such as caller tunes to create awareness on such issues."
Under the campaign users can subscribe to 'Donate your caller tune' that is accessible on the website www.Donateyourcallertune.In.
