Highlights
  • The intellectual suit which is fitted with large-area textile sensors can detect temperature, ph levels, pressure and other indicators showing the health status of a person.
  • The suit is linked to a cellphone, a computer, or even to a doctor's computer through wireless transmission.
  • Health monitoring at any place can now be made possible with the use of the suit.
A suit which can track changes in the body such as difference in temperature, pH levels, pressure and other indicators can help in easy health monitoring.

A group of Chinese scientists have developed the intellectual suit which is fitted with large-area textile sensors. These sensors can detect temperature, pH levels, pressure and other indicators showing the health status of a person.

The suit, via wireless transmission, can send signals to a cellphone, a computer, or even to a doctor's computer a thousand miles away, so a person's health can be monitored anytime and anywhere.

Wearable Devices For Detecting Diseases

Cystic Fibrosis: Cystic fibrosis, diabetes and other conditions can be diagnosed using a new wristband-type wearable sweat sensor.

The new wristband-type wearable sweat sensor stimulates the skin to produce minute amounts of sweat, quickly evaluates the contents and transmits the data via a cellphone to a server to analyze the results.

Exosuit for Stroke Patients:: Exosuit is a lightweight, soft, wearable ankle-assisting exosuit that could help reinforce normal gait in people with hemiparesis after stroke.

First Response Monitor: is specially designed to help doctors monitor both heart rate and respiratory rate.

The new technology is lightweight, robust and low-cost wearable biometric device. The device can collect and transmits data in real-time, enabling the medic to care for a greater number of casualties, providing more effective casualty triage to deliver improved patient outcomes.

Fabric electrode, which is a wearable ECG monitoring system is comfortable, breathable and have non-irritating properties. They can be easily folded, and are skin-friendly. Compared to conductive gels, long-term use of fabric electrodes does not cause skin irritation. They are intelligent and accurate in detecting biological signals.
