There are well-established methods to lose weight; most prominent among them are dieting and exercise. But given a chance, a person would be glad to lose weight with quick fix methods, where weight could be lost without any effort. A new weight-loss method provides just that - and ridiculous as it may sound - you could lose weight by just spraying a perfume!

The new perfume 'Prends-moi' from Velds has been developed by the French perfume house, Robertet. Its instant popularity is evident from the fact that it already has a waiting list of 6000 people.

The makers of the perfume claim that mere spraying of the perfume results in the release of certain substances called β-endorphins from the skin. These endorphins send messages to the brain resulting in a feeling of contentment and reducing the need to overeat out of anxiety and stress rather than hunger. The makers also claim that spraying the perfume in certain areas with a light massage could help to shape the contours of the body.

This perfume, based on aromatherapy and neurocosmetology, has been tested in women between the ages of 18 and 70 years and has found to limit the need to snack and provide a feeling of pleasure. The perfume should be sprayed in the morning and whenever the person feels like snacking.

While this perfume could be effective, the importance of exercise in our day-to-day life must not be forgotten. Exercise helps us to keep fit and maintain our health; the perfume on the other hand, will only help to reduce weight.

Whether this perfume will actually work in the numerous obese individuals remains to be seen! If it does so without any side effects, it may become very popular with women. If it does not, it will probably be soon forgotten and replaced by another effortless weight-loss method.
