Breastfeeding Revisited thanks to WHO and UNICEF

Breast feeding has been revisited this week due to the efforts of WHO, UNICEF and breast feeding steering committees as a socially acceptable and respectable practice.
As the World Breastfeeding Week (Aug 1-7) comes to an end of weeklong campaign, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has made some important observations in many countries. While in some countries it applauds the efforts, in other it is critical of the policies.
Breast-feeding has been the responsibility of every mother since the time of eve, hence why this sudden reawakening to an age-old practice. As the world undertook industrialization in the last 150 years; women in society started taking up different roles and breast-feeding went on a steady decline first in developed world and then in developing world. All kinds of substitute baby milk made a fortune for companies.
