High heels are indeed pretty and are a sought after possession in a woman's wardrobe.
Despite all the advice about high heels being bad for our spine and feet, yet, there is a breed of women for whom high heels give a sure shot high. Such women literally move heaven and earth to just step into those high heels that give them that air of confidence and add value to their overall personality.
There are women who are willing to cough up many thousands of dollars to be able to fit into their favorite pair of high heels. This also includes surgery to alter their feet in order that they can fit into high heels and feel comfortable in them. Women are now seeing these developments as a solution to the problems with their feet.
Some procedures are an instant hit as per the revelation of podiatrists. Foot injections, shortening toes and removing pinky toes are among the favorites. Some women approach podiatrists for removing bunions, while some approach them to inject collagen into the balls of the feet for added cushion.
Podiatrists say there has been a steady increase in the number of women interested in surgical options to help take away the pain of wearing high heels.
Medical specialists however have warned that any surgery must be handled with caution and it may not be such a good idea to go for foot procedures merely for cosmetic purposes
Additionally, podiatrists performing surgery for medical or aesthetic reasons must be equipped with training and experience to perform the surgery and deal with post-operative care.
