Random House publishing announced that the former US President George W. Bush's "strikingly candid" memoir, a detailed account of his eight years at the helm in the White House, has been given a November publication date.

The book, entitled "Decision Points" "describes the critical decisions of his presidency and personal life," Random House wrote in a press release, calling the work an "extraordinary memoir."

In the autobiography, Bush "writes honestly and directly about his flaws and mistakes, as well as his accomplishments" which included "safeguarding the country amid chilling warnings of additional terrorist attacks."

"George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life," the book company wrote, promising "gripping, never-before-heard detail" of his presidency, including the September 11, 2001 terror attacks that defined his time in the White House, his decisions to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, and his handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster.

The book, released by Random House's Crown Books imprint, will arrive in bookstores on November 9, just days after mid-term US congressional and gubernatorial elections.
