 Free Dialysis for Kidney Patients in Rajasthan from October 2
Free dialysis will now be available to kidney patients from Gandhi Jayanti (Oct 2)in the government hospitals of Rajasthan, officials revealed.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

"All the patients, BPL (below poverty line) or APL, would be provided free dialysis facilities in government hospitals from Oct 2," officials said.

The meeting also gave approval to the various proposals including giving nod to the resolution for the implementation of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) in the state.

Proposal related to establish a separate consumer affairs department and the draft of Rajasthan Trees (Plantation & Protection in Urban Areas) Ordinance, 2013 were also given approval by the Cabinet.

The NUHM, to cover all cities with a population of more than 50,000, aims to provide the basic health care needs of the urban population with focus on urban poor by making essential primary health care services available to them.

The mission will be implemented in 61 cities having population above 50,000 in the state in a phased manner and around 1.25 crore people will be benefited by it. In the first phase, it is proposed to be implemented in 33 district headquarters.

The tree protection ordinance provides for fines to cut designated species of trees deemed protected without approval. It also seeks to make mandatory for every plot more than 200 square meters to grow one protected tree.
