Four More Deaths Due to Swine Flu Reported in Hyderabad
Four more deaths due to swine flu - three women and a two-year-old girl - were reported in the last two days from Hyderabad, the capital of southern India's Telangana state. With this, the death toll due to swine flu since August, has reached 14 in the state.
Sources said that a 21-year-old woman who had delivered a baby 10 days ago succumbed to swine flu at Gandhi Hospital last day. Another woman from Kushaiguda village died in a private hospital in Hyderabad. A 32-year-old woman from Nalgonda died at the state-run Gandhi Hospital while another two-year-old girl infected by H1N1 virus too had passed away.

The total number of swine flu cases has crosses the 400 mark in Hyderabad since August. Relatives of the 21-year-old woman, who died at Gandhi Hospital, alleged that the hospital lack proper treatment facilities. Meanwhile, the Gandhi Hospital authorities said that the woman had died within hours of being admitted to the hospital.

Swine flu, also called pig influenza is an infection caused by any one of several types of swine influenza viruses. Swine influenza virus is any strain of the influenza family of viruses that is endemic in pigs.
