Following Supermodel Diet of Including Coconut Oil in Diet may be Harmful
Health experts have warned against following Victoria’s Secret supermodel, Miranda Kerr’s practice of consuming four tablespoons of coconut oil and said that any benefits are far outweighed by the potential risks.
Speaking to Australia’s Cosmopolitan magazine, Kerr said that the secret of her trim figure and glowing skin was the inclusion of coconut oil in her diet. The 28-year old said that she has been following the practice since she was 14 years of age and said that she uses at least four tablespoons of coconut oil in her daily diet.

However health experts in the United States said that consuming coconut oil in such large quantities was not good for the health and warned that it could substantially increase the risk of coronary disease.

Says Keith Ayoob, who is the director of the nutrition clinic at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, “I can't say I'd want people consuming lots of coconut oil. You should use it sparingly. You want to cut back on saturated fats in your diet. I don't know what benefit it would have for weight management because it has just as many calories as any other fat.”
