FDA Approves Brainsway Deep TMS Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation System to Treat Depression

The FDA has approved Brainsway's Deep TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) to treat treatment-resistant depression.

FDA Approves Brainsway Deep TMS Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation System to Treat Depression

The system has already received approval in Europe three years ago. It is also used to treat chronic neuropathic pain.  Research is also ongoing to test the system for conditions like Alzheimer's and bipolar disorder.

Brainsway expressed delight at the approval given to the system and said that the approval for the broad indication indicates that the device is safe and effective.
