Father Knew He Had AIDS, Still Raped His Two Daughters For Over a Decade

A 40-year-old man from Mumbai, who was recently arrested by police, knew he had AIDS, but still raped his two daughters for 10 years.

Police took the man to a hospital for medical check-up and doctors revealed that the man had AIDS.

The accused confirmed stating that he has been taking medicine for AIDS since last one year. However, he told police that his wife and daughters did not have AIDS.

His 21-year-old daughter filed a police complaint when he allegedly raped her younger sister who is 12-year-old.

She informed police that she was first raped at the age of 11. She could not tell anyone about her ordeals as her mother was scared to reveal the truth to the society.

A 14-year-old was allegedly sedated and raped by a doctor on February, 2015 during her visit to the clinic for treatment of typhoid.

However, she was shattered when her sister informed that their father had made sexual advantages even toward the 12-year-old. Then the 21-year-old took help from her neighbors and filed a police complaint.

A police official said, "The accused told us that the disease was in the initial stage and he had found out about it a year ago. He had been taking medicines since then."

The accused has been booked under several Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 376 (Rape) and relevant Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was produced in court on September 2 and remanded in police custody till September 8.
