Dubai's director of government projects, Mohammed Noor Mashroom revealed that the country will be constructing a new theme park that honors the Koran and that it will be open for tourists and visitors by September 2014.
The park will have a garden with plants that are mentioned in the Koran. It will also have an air-conditioned tunnel with images of holy events that are described in the book.
AdvertisementAccording to the Washington Times, the plan for the park comes on the heels of two other recent project announcements.
The other two projects are aimed at drawing Western tourists - an Angry Birds theme park and to build the world's largest Ferris wheel.
