DRL to Sell Generic Version of Montelukast Sodium in US

Hyderabad based pharmaceutical company Dr Reddy's Laboratories has announced that it has launched the generic version of its Montelukast Sodium oral granules in the United States after receiving approval from the US Food and Drug Administration.

The granules are a bioequivalent generic version of Singulair and will be used in treating asthma and other seasonal allergies.

The company said that the granules will be available in 4mg strengths and will come in a pack of 30. Figures from IMS Health shows that Singulair oral granules accounted for annual sales of $61 million in the US market.
