Drinking Asian Pear Juice Before Alcohol Could Ward Off Hangovers
Consuming Asian pear juice before the first sip of alcohol can significantly lower hangover symptoms the next day, according to a recent study conducted by the Australian scientific research group, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CISRO).
The study participants were given 220 ml (1 cup) of Asian pear juice also known as Korean or nashi pear juice before drinking alcohol.

The pear juice was beneficial to eradicating headaches the next day. It was also shown to reduce common symptoms like memory loss, nausea and sensitivity to light.

It was also observed that Asian pear juice improved the levels of concentration. However the participants did not get the same benefits when they drank pear juice after a night of drinking.

Asian pears have high water content and a crisp, grainy texture. The researchers believe that pear contains unique enzymes that helps to increase alcohol metabolism and also inhibits alcohol absorption.

Pears are also known to lower levels of the toxin blood acetaldehyde, which makes hangover even worse.
