Dengue Cases Cross Over 26,000 Mark In Taiwan: Centers For Disease Control
Another 307 cases of dengue have been reported in Taiwan, taking the total number of cases since the outbreak in May to 26,660, said the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The cities of Kaohsiung and Tainan, where the dengue fever outbreak is concentrated, reported 185 and 119 new daily cases.

Dengue fever has claimed a total of 122 lives so far this year in Taiwan, the CDC said, adding that 24,521 patients have recovered from the disease.

Dengue fever is an infectious tropical disease spread by mosquitoes.

The symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, and skin rash. In a small proportion of cases, the disease can develop into hemorrhagic dengue fever, which can be fatal.
